update

i am doing good almost done the program only a week left and then i come home. we have gone to the zoo on the 9 of august; we went to quebec city from July 19 -20 and we had really enjoyed our time in quebec but we first helped out with mountain bike race and then got to see some of quebce city we had to go back to the katimavik house on the 20th so we did not get to stay and see Paul McCarthy perform :( other than that we had a good time.
August 16th 2008 we are helping jonquer katmaivk group move into an apartment. and then getting to hang out with alma katimakvik group. today was my last day at my placement that i vollunteered at it was a home for those who are homeless and troubled and it is female only. the only time guys come into the house is to visit or cut the grass.
i got chocolates as my good bye present. i have really enjoyed my time working there.
From 18 - 24 i am house manager and then i leave on the 27th of august.

billet week

This is billeting week. i am doing good the billet person that i am with is soo into organic food. but he makes good food too. Well kayla comes back in the week of the 13 and then the week of the 21 to the 27 she and i are house managers.

Canada Day

On Canada day after i came back from work we had supper and then went to the port and there was belly dancing, Irish dance (like the dancing that river dance did.) 3 people did a kareoki competion. There was swing dancing, all the people who were swing dancing were dressed up in the 40's style dresses and were very good at dancing too. At one point in the show about 10 couples in the crowed watching the show started to swing dance themselves. The jonquiere Katimavik group joined us for fire works and i have them all in pictures.
On June 27th i went to a street concert and had a fun time too. There was brake dancing and then there was belly dancing and 2 bands playing music. There was also fire throwing and balancing. The jonquiere Katimavik group found us and hung out with us too.

Laughs at work

Well as for the laughing today was a good day. One of the girls that works there (the lady that i work with is Emmanuelle) who is going on vacation in 3 weeks told me that she wanted to dress me up in clothes that were soo big on me and becuase they were so big on me she could put 3 layers on me and then one of the ladies that lives there came back with her camera and a pillow and put that inside the pants. Then put a shirt that was baggy on me and a winter hat and then then gave me the ballons that were for the girl that is going on vacation to hold. They took a picture it is very funny and silly but fun. They said to me that they would email it to me. Also today the lady who took the picture when we were on coffee break she grabbed the "spoon" aka the knife that was used to cut the banana bread to stir her coffee when she realized that she took the knife she started to laugh and then i started to laugh.

June 26

I am now working at the home for abused women. The staff are really nice. They have a translator that you can type in and then it translates what you typed. I use it too.
I had a fun day today at work. I got to go the city with my work for fresh made cheese and then they dropped me off at the Katimavik house at 2:45pm, just in time to catch the bus to go home. (Yesterday I go mixed up and took the bus going the wrong way but I managed to ask questions and get going the right way. It was a little scary.) I was laughing most of the time when we were on our way becuase one of the ladies who owns this 12 laugh tranlator and she would start typing and then later on wonder why she was not seeing any thing and then relized that it was not on and I started laughing from her reaction to realizing that it was not on.
Blake decided he did not want to stay with the program and took a bus home this morning.
Well i got to go just thought that you would like to know what's up.

update

Kayla left on medical leave but will be back in 3 weeks becuse she haa\pneumonia. She found out some thing was not right when she was coughing and she coughed up blood. She went to the docter after her mom asked her to go and the docter just told her to go home for like 3 weeks to rest and then come back. So that is what is happing so Kayla will be back in time for billiting. Well good thing she had had not started working at the café becuause if she had it would be harder to leave and then come back.

Matthieu had to leave the program because he received another CTI and he did not have any warnings left.

Monday, I start my new job.

June 14

Today we went and helped out with fishing and that happens every year. They take buckets and they fill them up with fish and then put the fish in the river. I was standing there watching them get put into the river and then later on as I was waiting for one of the guys with the fishing rod who was passing it on to an other guy. I was going around him and then my foot slipped and then i fell in I was like shocked for a second and then got out. Everyone was laughing at me - wish it was on camera. My camera was in my hand but it survived the fall. It still works. After that was done Ezgi walked with me to the van and I took off my wet clothes and she dryed them out for me. I am okay I did not hurt myself.
